Unfortunately a faulty stove caused a terrible fire that burnt the beautifully carved interior and destroyed the original 1797 bells of St Martins Church in 1890. Thankfully the medieval granite candle holder survived.

Not to say that Lewannick is small but.. Back in the good ol days people were careful. Nowadays people are regularly more ambitious with wheel bending consequences.
